Howdy Guys, well what a difference a couple of great nights sleep makes, we crashed yesterady at around 7.30 exhausted from our day at Alcatraz but today we have had a fantastic day full of energy and loving San Fran!
We had our Platinum tour of the Academy of Natural Sciences and man when they say platinum they mean it, we were treated like VIP's with behind the scene access, straight to the front of the line access ( really cool as the lines were long! ) and all the staff jumping to help once they saw the VIP Pass.
We had a personal tour from the head of the Entimology department who has just returned from 3 months in China cataloging new insect species, he was fascinating and so wrapped up in his work it was a delight to listen to someone who has an obvious passion for his field of expertise.
We were then taken behind the scenes to see how the museum operates from feeding and caring for the animals to how they draw sea water into the museum around 3k by pipelines for their aquarium exhibits, it was fantastic!
We then walked over to a beautiful Japanese Tea Garden and saw some beautifully crafted gardens and temples, it was very relaxing we also had some japanese tea ( ok i may have had a hot chocolate but Sam had green tea and that counts for both of us!! )
Tonight we are off to fishermans wharf for some seafood chowder and a look at all the shops that are there, while tomorrow is finally the day Sam has been waiting for SHOPPING DAY!!
Talk to you tomorrow hopefully with some cash left!! love you all Ralf & Sam xxx

Wuhoo!!! Shopping Day! Try Old Navy - it has really great bargains. There are a couple of outlets of Ross Dress for less - 2600 16th Street and 799 Market Street (closer to Union Square). The VIP treatment sounded absolutely wonderful!
ReplyDeleteSomehow - I didn't actually believe that you would be drinking tea when something else was on offer.
Thank goodness you've finally caught up on some rest.
Enjoy the chowder!
Lots of Love

ReplyDeleteDear Ralf and Sandra.
Congratulations! You have been awarded the "LOMARX" Globe Trotters Award for outstanding reporting above and beyond common duty.
Unfortunatley you missed the champagne dinner in your honour.
We will try to remember to invite both of you to our next "coffee and cream bun" get together when a suitable date can be arranged.
Well done,
The Chairperson

Well guys it is celebration time here at Narangba, the painting has just finished. (Told you Ralf it would take 2 weeks when done by a pro!) It has really transformed your house. I hope you are both happy with it. I gapped up all the cornices, plastered and sanded all the ceilings that needed it and it has come up like a new home. When you return home we'll have a chat about anymore painting you need, because I think the girls may want me for awhile and I can come back again and do both homes. Will discuss the mates rates with you when you get home too!!!! Catch you both Sunday. Continue to enjoy your last few days of world travels. Cheers for now. Gervy
