Ok guys Washington was well worth the 4 hour bus trip to get here what a fantastic city wide streets that are really clean beautiful monuments and very friendly people, my highlight was the air and space museum that held such magnificent thiongs as the appollo 11 landing module and other really cool stuff Sam said that the Lincon Memorial was her favorite iot was a very big day beginning at 6am and we are on the bus now at 7.30pm with an arrival time at midnight!!
Mum Washington is a lot like Adelaide with wide streets and parklands surrounding the city except that this place has heaps of monuments scattered around the parklands!!
Love you all Ralf & Sam xxxx

Hey guys - fabulous photo's. Loved the Lincoln memorial, loved the flags. Great to see you Sammie without the stylish beanies for a change. I have to say - the trees and scenery is like Canberra in winter - it looks vaguely similar. Glad you enjoyed it - and it must be nice to actually get on a blog on your back and forwards run!
ReplyDeleteSo - it must be time to gamble in Vegas guys?

ReplyDeleteSam - I'm with you - I've seen so many different photo's of the Lincoln memorial. Apparently according to friends - it definitely has an air about it. I have to say - I loved the inscription on the wall behind it. Nice to see your hair out too - what a fabulous photo.
ReplyDeleteWhat a shame with the quilters club that I am going away - someone will just have to write it down for me!
Nearly home time for me (well - another 3 hours).
Lots of love

Hi Sam, could have been me in the truck the other day! Loaded the truck Friday arvo for a very early delivery Monday morning and guess what- flat batteries. Luckily I had time to get a couple of new ones. I will fix ralfies cold when he gets back.I will make sure he can sweat it out doing some deliveries in the rather high humidity.
ReplyDeleteYou will be hot in Las Vegas but the Grand Canyon can be snowy. Good luck in the Casinos, cheers from John and Chris.
Great photos again guys. I think you will need a holiday when you get back to get over your holiday!! Gerv is about 3/4s of the way through painting and it's looking really good. He said to wish you luck in Las Vegas and don't forget to try and roll the big one, so you can pay the painter!!! The boys also wanted to let you know the toad hunting is going well! Look forward to hearing more of your adventure. Love you lots Lynn and co mwah xoxo
ReplyDeleteFourscore and seven years ago...the Lincoln Memorial is so special. Abraham Lincoln 16th president of the United States, first US president to be assassinated. His Gettysburg address only meant to be a few words became one of the most inspirational speeches in American History. "The world will little note nor long remember what we say here, but it can never forget what they did here." Well, the world certainly didn't forget what was said there and in my opinion I think the famous Gettysburg Address will assure no one forgets what they did there. As you can see I get carried away with American History! So that's enough of that :) Have an amazing time soak up all that history! love ya's lots Vic xoxo

ReplyDeleteWow it looks great there! There doesn't seem to be too many other people around either - must have been nice not to be too crowded. The museum sounds so interesting - would love to see it one day!
