Hot and Sticky in Singapore today however i think that is the norm for around here!
We have had a great day touring around on the hop on hop off bus all around the place, we travelled to the marina, Chinatown, Little India and to a few other places to boot.
We tried the local dish called Laksa which is like a spicy broth with noodles, Prawns, Egg and slivers of something else it was actually delicious and later in the day we went back for another go!
Glad to hear thast the power is back on at the house Gerv didnt take you l,ong to start destroying the place!!
Off to Sentosa Island tomorrow and btw 1st item is secured T .

Yay - good to see that you are sticking to the plan! And Laksa! Well - this is something that I can share with you when you get home! I have about 7 different styles that I can make - and Sammy - I can make a very flavoursome one for you with Corriander. Actually Sam - you know the Thai restaurant next to the Italian one that you go to in Strathpine - well they make a very good Laksa. If you want something there that is spicy and a little more coconut milk - a Tom Kha is usually good - Tom Kha is a spicy coconut broth and then there is what meat that you have it made on (or vegetarian) - we usually choose a Tom Kha Gai (chicken).

I have to ask - whilst in little India - did you go to the gold market - we found three floors of sheer gold! We never did buy anything from there as it was a little too daunting (one of our first trips together OS when we were still sussing out the whole travel thing).
Sentosa Island is lovely. If you get a chance - try any of the drinks in coconuts - all of them are lovely - alcoholic or not.

Laksa - a fave. You have to ask Tig to make you some when you get home. Slivers you say??? Hmm, interesting?? Sam - Tig can show you how to make Laksa if you you like (Tig - volunteered you.....you know I have no idea how to make it!!!)
Sentosa Island - Sammy you will love it. Ralfy - from memory I think you said that you have been there in the past. .... Sammy - if you are game - I remember there being massages in the beach side stalls - I had a neck one there and remember it being so heavenly that it was almost like the best anaesthetic time and again .........

ReplyDeleteWell - it is a little after 5.30am and the girl has just left for work! She finally got home at eleven last night - and I can't believe that I was still up!! It was an on call night so I think the longest stint of sleep was nearly an hours worth - feeling very fatigued now.
Anyway - Meeks and I are off to the gym and then we will see if Boo Boo is up and go for a wander in the paddock - have a wonderful day!
