Hello to you all today we travelled to wonderful Loch Ness with its beautiful Urquhart Castle we searched for Nessie but to no avail! We asked a local that told us of a wonderful walk that takes you to the shores of the loch but is not a tourist track ,it was great with Sam and i walking across streams trying to keep our balance on the exposed rocks and at one point Sammy shimmying over a large log soooooo funny i have video i was waiting for the inevitable falling in but apart from some belly rash she made it across if a little ungainly!
Andreas lovely to hear from you we so wish you were still with us as we travel across this pretty country, we had so much fun with you guys even if wed had to get Stephanie to translate everything you were saying!! Im still looking for little bells so that you can feel like a real German!
Mum i hope you get the log in sorted out soon so that we can talk as we travel around, we are now in Carlisle which was about a 4 hour drive it was our longest leg and we are happy to have it behind us!
Tomorrow hadrians wall and the lakes district beckon before we head off to Stratford upon Avon, Lovely to hear from JO FROM ENGLAND! and your advice has been great and made the trip a lot easier.
Trish you have been great keeping us informed and taking care of any loose ends I dont have to tell you how much i appreciate you and what you do for me.
Take care all chat soon The happy Wanderers Ralf & Sam & MM
PS; MM had a great day at Loch Ness and features heavily in our pictures in fact he has proven to be a bit of a camera hog!!!
PSS- I did NOT look ungainly shimming across the log, it was done with my usual grace and style!!! Ralf is just upset that I didn't fall in!! (Rufus can you get Uncle Gerv to help you send a message as I am missing you heaps XXXXX)
PSSS: Gerv stop whining about the weather like a little girl just remember the day we dug drains at Mt Pleasant this is sheer luxury compared to that.

Good Morning lovelies!
ReplyDeleteSorry to have missed your call - was out in the gym! Loved the blog - can't wait to see the video. MM looks awesome at the Loch! Can't wait to see his journey abroad.
Sammy - we will try to send you some Rufus messages soon. We'll see if we can get our other blog to upload some photo's so you can say hi - will let you know when it is done!!
Well - two doses of antibiotics and Alex is actually up an about this morning! She absolutely adores the photo of MM! She can even be heard when she talks which is good - so she is pretty sure she will be back at work tomorrow!
It is a little early to know what the weather is doing today. We awoke to nice clear skies early - but as the day begins the clouds are rolling in and the wind has started to pick up.
So for treasure hunt details:
A visit to the lakes district will find a lot about Beatrix Potter - so how about visiting the antiques places and finding something old to do with Jemima Puddleduck.
For the recommendations : Try Mint - Cake. Simply a peppermint confection in chocolate. First used by Hilary when climbing as he found it had great energy properties. From memory it is called Kendals mint cake in dedication to a confectioner who was actually trying to make glacier mints at the time. The three oldest manufacturers of it are Romney's, Quiggans and Wilsons.
So have a wonderful day - take lots of photo's of Hadrians wall. It is one of those walks that we intend doing one day.
Lots of love

Hi miss Sandra,
ReplyDeleteWe've loved looking at all of your photos.
We watched videos on YouTube of the Loch Ness monster.
C said that it is big and has big teeth and big eyes.
E said that it is scary! Uh oh!
We have been doing our experiments at school. We made rocket balloons full of air and they went very fast.
We made helicopters. When we dropped them, they were spinning down to the ground.
J3 say a big hello!
Have fun, stay safe and keep showing us lots of photos.
Love from J2, Fiona and Kerryn xx
Dear BB and Ralfy,
ReplyDeleteWhat a wonderful time you are having. Sorry to hear that Nessy didn't want to show her head or tail for you! Glad you survived the 4hr drive. It will make all the driving ahead of you seem like a breeze now :).
I spoke to Gerv and Rufus for you BB. Rufus is missing you just as much, but seems to have settled into Gerv's routine of Bargain Hunt and Antique Roadshow. (Amazing for Gerv!!!) They sit happily together of an evening and Rufus doesn't growl at him anymore when it's bedtime!!
Your mum rang me Ralfy. They still can't work out why they can't post comments, but wanted you to know that they are enjoying reading all the news of your journey and I think she said she was still sending you emails, so I hope you are getting them.
Have a lovely time exploring the Lakes District and Statford Upon Avon. What a truly beautiful part of the world. Can't wait to see your photos.
Safe and happy travels.
Love you lots and lots.
Lynn xoxo
PS Stephy, your Mum was hugging that hunky man for me!!!!
Bad luck guys in not seeing the monster. Grace and style, mmmmm your probably right Ralf ungainly. Loved smar's comments read it ten times it was soooo good.
ReplyDeleteGerv
PS Haven't had a real good laugh for awhile Ralf, WE dug drains? If only I had help that day.
PSS Ralfy I am sure Sandra was all grace and style while crossing that stream. You, on the other hand, might want to go back into your memory bank and recall a certain afternoon of panning for gold!!!! I still love you!! mwah xoxo
