Bon Journo from beautiful Venice and phew its hot!! 33 degrees today, we have had an amazing day it began at 6.30 with breakfast and off to the airport in Paris where we had a 4 hour wait for our flight with Easyjet but it was worth the wait as we booked a speedy check in we got to enter the plane first and choose our seats which were obviously the exit row and to our good fortune we got the spare seat empty son plenty of width as well as leg room Fantastic!! we then bought a water bus ticket for the trip to Venice island from Marco Polo Airport which took around 50 minutes, we were really worried about lugging our bags all the way to our hotel through the streets of Venice when at the Water Bus stop a man whon went by the name of Fabio offered to cvarry our bags on a special trolley to our hotel for 20 euro's, man that was the best 20 euro's i have spent this trip not only did he take the luggage he took us straight to our hotel and gave us some excellentb advice to boot.
After a little rest we ventured out into the streets of this beautiful city, the canals and the history of the place is amazing, we had dinner in a delightful courtyard and i had the largest beer i have ever seen in my life, with Sammys help we drank it which made getting home difficult as we got hopelessly lost, never fear a few directions from the locals got us home safe and sound where we crashed for a little Nanna nap.
Anyway no plans at yet for tomorrow probably off to Murano for a look at the glassworks and more aimless walking around the streets of Venice.
Happy Fathers Day Dad!!! Hope you are continuing to recover well, cant wait to talk to you upon our return, thanks Stephy for your message I am very proud to have raised such beautiful children, your message meant so much to me I must admit I miss my Fathers Day Photo of you!!
Well its off to bed for us as we are very tired after another big travelling day, we are both getting very homesick and for all the wonderful things we are seeing it also brings back into stark reality how important all our family and friends are to us back home, keep sending messages as we love to read what is happening with you guys as well.
We Love and Miss you all Ralf, Sam, and MM xxxx

Great solution lovelies! We are glad that you took the water bus. When you kept saying taxi's we were concerned that you really didn't know the costs! It is great that you got a porter! When we got to Venice we still only had one rolly bag each so it really wasn't a problem for us.
ReplyDeleteRalfy - (Alex here - just stolen the keyboard) great to see you finally had a litre beer! You can imagine me having that all to myself in Firenze! No wonder Trish had to pour me back home!!! You can see how much of a friendly town it is - we were always delighted to hear stories about its history and the like!
Well lovelies - after getting the keyboard back!!! 33 degrees sounds awesome! I can't wait till summer. Today has dawned cloudy! Bugga - was really hoping for some very nice weather!
Love the canal shots! We went a little overboard with our canal shots when we were there. If you go over to Murano Island - have pizza over there in the main street - it is the most simplest, tasty and fabulous experience! You sit outside drinking white wine and eating pizza and the shop owners make the experience because everything has that festive touch about it!
Well - off to shower. Haven't yet worked out the time difference - about to do that shortly.
Lots of love
Both of us

& Meeks!
By the way! Love the white outfit Sammie - totally Awesome.

Good Morning - although we should say good afternoon! On your next blog we will put you next treasure hunting tips. You will have to laugh - the litre beer is part of the recommendations for Firenze/Florence so you are one step ahead! Well done. Looks like you will both come home with lovely tans just in time for summer. Strange grey day here.
ReplyDeleteLots of love

Hi guys - work finished for another day. Make sure you walk far and wide through Venice so much to see. Love the photo's didn't think that you drank the beer all by yourself. Great to see you enjoying yourselves.
ReplyDeleteWe have got to go fishing when you get back, I definitely need a holiday.
Cheers for now
Tried and Tried and Tried to Skype - no luck. Signing of for the day. Love Alex xxxx
ReplyDeleteAmazing gallon of beer there, Ralph! Paul & I had one of those each in Paris a few years ago.. i was so wobbly afterwards that he had to hold my arm when I walked! (knees were ok tho! ;O))
ReplyDeleteSounds and looks like you are having a brilliant trip! Paul & I are so glad that we met up with you both in Singers and London. Both times were memorable and always bring smiles to our faces whenever we relay our stories to others. Really hope we get to go out to Brisbane next year - it would be great to see you both again. BTW, James had to tell his teacher what the best part of the summer school hols was for him... he simply said, "Going to London to meet Ralph & Sandra and seeing Big Ben and the whole of London" Bless him.
Take Care on the rest of your trip and don't forget the record you have to break on Satay Street in Singapore, Ralph!
Love from all the Tillers
